Why is CS4 stripping the Manufactures Notes from my EXIF data?

After using the Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4 to produce my JPEGs from RAW files, the Manufactures Notes are intact in the EXIF portion of the file. After performing some basic manipulations on those JPEGs in Adobe CS4 and saving the files, the Manufactures Notes disapear from the EXIF data of the file. Anyone have any ideas as to how to prevent this from happening?
