DV is right. Larger AF focal window and training yourself to make sure contrast is inside that focal point will clear up your hunting problem. Add in AF-On at the back and you can learn to bang out shots in low light fast. This is the strategy I used with my X100 and it worked very well. You can't apply the D600 focus strategy to the Fuji X series in low light. I find the X series requires more technique.

or just use my D600.

I'm on vacation in England and decided to just take my Fuji X-E1.

Doing lots of family inside low light stuff and this Fuji hunts while focusing way too much for my liking.

I wouldn't have that problem with my D600!

Maybe time to get this bad boy out more again when I return.

On the bright side, more pics for me to share with y'all in this forum.

Very best as always,

Neil.

Neil,

Not to state the obvious, but make sure you enlarge the focal point on the X-E1. It makes a big difference in AF performance in lower light. You can do that by pressing the AF button on the lower left side of the back of the camera and then rotating the dial to enlarge or reduce the size of the focal point. I mention this, because many people are not aware that you can do this, and it does make a difference.

Sorry to be off topic in a Nikon forum.
