24-120mm F4 VR or Canon 24-105 F4L

I've never seen a decent sample of the 24-120. I think it's a pity that Nikon just doesn't dump the thing and start over from scratch.

The Canon is pretty good, although there's a fair amount of barrel distortion at the wide end. I deem it okay.
