I forget who or where, but recently I saw someone review an ultra-wide legacy lens on the NEX-7. The advantage of an ultra-wide is that you can get very short hyperfocal distances, eliminating any concern about missing focus. They had lots of neat street candids on flickr, basically standing on the sidewalk and quickly snapping photos of people as they passed. I guess a deep DoF is unfashionable these days but I thought some of the images were quite compelling.
