Noise in FZ200 Pictures, how bad is it?

Hi Folks,

I've read so much about the FZ200 and the Canon SX50 that I think I could build either one from scratch if I only had the parts. Both seem to be good cameras. I want to be sure the FZ200 is right for me. I'm not much of a guy for trying and returning.

The FZ200 has a lot going for it, of course. The EVF, fast lens, great burst rates, movie modes, etc. It seems to be the best of the Superzooms for me. However, the issue of noise is mentioned in several professional reviews and even on this forum. What's going on with the noise thing? Is it worse than the FZ150? About the same? I might still buy it, even if I have to use de-noise post processing,....... but I sort of doubt it. When I use my cameras in the National Parks and at Little League games, I take a lot of pictures. I don't see myself spending much time tweaking them for noise. If it's as bad as some have said, this would seem to be a really serious flaw in the FZ200. Not every photographer likes to post process, nor should they be expected to.

I realize that the pros have to have some negatives to point out. I recall that one forum member stated that he wouldn't take the FZ200 if he could not post process the noise out of the files. Really? Is it that bad?

I figure this post will be read by the best FZ200 users in the world. I look forward to your opinions.

Thanks!,..... Jack
