Street photography in snowstorm with AW100

I have a D3 and better lenses. I could use that in a snowstorm like the one that hit Vancouver, British Columbia two weeks ago. Or, I could use a humble camera like the Nikon AW100.

AW100's lens is slow and frankly optically limited. ISO performance is inferior. There is too much NR, and no RAW option. AF is old school CDAF and unimpressive.

That said, it is cold and water resistant. So, I gave it a try. Up to ISO 400  and 1/15s. I even tried to mimic a painterly style.

I was pleased to find that the camera did its job reasonable well; if I didn't try to make it behave like a D3. With a dumb camera, I didn't try for technically excellent pictures. Rather, I focused on the narrative. What does a snowstorm feel like?

Happy New Year.
