DP2M Auto-ISO quirk?

I thought I'd take advantage of the Auto ISO feature with Hi set at 200 and Lo at 100;  shooting in Av mode.   However, finding it extremely difficult to get the camera to ever take a picture at ISO 100.   Eg, in a bright scene, the camera returns eg. 1/1000 at selected f/3.5 and uses ISO 200.   I did get ISO 125 for a 1/1250 second shot in another instance.   I guess I would have thought default would be ISO 100 as long as shutter speed might be eg. 1/250 or faster or some sort of logic along these lines?
