I can't imagine that you have never discussed another model or brand outside of the forum limits Kerry.. or am I wrong?

However, for me, this D600 information is great.... in accumulating a wider experience feedback.

I had a D300 then went to a D700.. both were great cameras.. esp the D700. However I didn't like the weight of them.

I then came to the D7000  and very pleased with AF and IQ... and increased DR

Now there is a lighter bodied FX... I'm very keen to know what anyone says about the 'upgrade'. I want to know if the D600 is at least the same in terms of AF. If it's worse I would certainly like to know!

I can filter the BS from real improvements myself. I can only speak personally when I say I don't have any of the so-called  continual failure of the D7000's AF, that the OP speaks of; or the statement:

*Focus is better than the D7000 by miles, but still short of the D700.

I found the AF better in some regards on the D700 than the D7000, but not by 'miles'. I did find the tracking ability of the D7000 better than both the D700 or D300.

The D7000 is seemingly trashed 'almost' daily on the Pro DX forum, and the D7000 forum is full of fanboys apparently.

I go to the Pro DX forum regularly to see photos that are put up... it's great to see them. you tend to get that when there are no news cameras being released in that forum's designation. the photographers use the time to show what they are doing with their gear.

There's room for a discussion like this, surely?
