Sony NEX-5R Filters

Hello everyone,

I am new here and new to photography (well, decent photography!)

After years of point and shoots my wife bought me a NEX-5R for Christmas, in hopes that I can take some decent family shots in the future.

My first quest has been to find a filter.  I have decided I would like one, and I have decided I would like an MC UV/Haze filter.

I have searched multiples sites for the answer to my following questions, but can't quite get an answer...

2) Will the lens cap and shade hood that came with my NEX kit work with the above filter? (it came with the 18-55 lens)

3) Is there a general ranking of filters from Hoya, Tiffen, Kenko, B+W?
