If 10K is you budget, u don't really need to just stick to 1 brand. You may want to try both A57/A77 and D600/D800 (at this moment A99 is still way overpriced even if u are rich). Don't buy expensive lens yet. Just feel which brand u like and make your choice later.
The A99 is expensive, but I don't see it as overpriced. The EVF and articulating screen provide functionality you won't find elsewhere. After using focus peaking, I'm not sure I could live without it. Yes, I believe the world looks better with a large bright pentaprism viewfinder, but the EVF is vastly more functional. I have always been a big pentaprism fan, but the OLED EVFs on the A77 and A99 are so good that I have to admit, I don't miss the prism very much.
The large supply of excellent Minolta lenses allows one to get great glass for little money--and they will all be stabilized.
Personally, I chose to go down the Minolta road and bought the KM D7 almost entirely because of the Minolta 500mm AF reflex lens. Stabilized on the Sony cameras, this lens alone provides incredible reach in a very small and light package. Whenever I hike, I take this lens--otherwise I use the 70-400G. Currently, my workhorse lenses with the A99 are the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and 28mm f/2.8 primes. The Sony 100mm f/2.8 macro is superb too for both macros and general photography or portraits. That's the nice thing about the A-mount. You can knock your pocket book out with Zeiss or you can go real easy with used Minolta glass or you can go middle of the road with Sigma, Tamron, and Sony. I just don't see this platform as lacking lenses.
Additional functionality like MFNR is fantastic.
