What are the EF Canon Extenders 1.4X or a 2X lll used for? I have a Canon 60D and recentely purchased a Canon 70-200L IS USM lens.

I am a casual photographer who takes family, landscape, & wildlife photos. Are these extenders for someone like me or for professionals?

Thanks for your input.

extenders are not the greatest things as you'll find out, although the latest canon TCs work very well with newer canon primes and teles on recent canon cameras! the biggest drawback in using the extenders is that they diminish and affect the IQ to the point that sometime it isn't worth it, especially using 3rd party ones! good luck with using extenders.

The Canon EF 1.4x (and the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 AF 1.4x) work very well with the EF 70-200/4L (IS or not).  Yes you lose 1 stop.
