Anyone own A99 and A77

Sorry, doing too many things at once Stateside there's an even larger stock of excellent used lenses, often the more exotic and high performance ones too.

My regular lens is a 24-85mm Minolta AF which cost me £110 ($170) as unsold new stock, remaindered in a store since 1999 but sold to me in 2009. Nikon has just this last 'launch phase' introduced a new 24-85mm with stabilisation, exactly the same f/3.5-4.5 specification, no better in any way than the 1999 Minolta, to go with the D600.

The matter of the APS-C A99 crop of nearly 11 megapixels, versus the A77 at over 24 megapixels, may seem a negative but once you move over ISO 800, you have to reduce the A77 image by the same amount to get an acceptable high ISO appearance. So you might shoot at 3200 on the A99, cropped, and have a perfect image - but at 3200 on the A77, you would need to scale the final image down to 10 megapixels to balance the noise/NR/sharpness equation. At low ISOs the A77 wins for tele shots.
