Anyone own A99 and A77

The OP may like to know why WE choose Sony.

i have been a Nikon and  more recently a Canon 5D2 shooter.

i prefer Sony these days.

Why?

- The EVF and the live view, Together withh the articulating rear screen. This is completely different to Canon or Nikon.  If you like to shoot from different angles, if you like to shoot sometimes holding the camera away from your face, perhaps at your waist or hips, or holding it down low, or high above your head, the Sony is unique.

Only the Sony will let you do this.  This has transformed photography for me.

You know the way that photographers can seem to hide behind their cameras, holding them up to their faces and so not interact with their subject?  You don't have to do that with Sony.  The camera works exactly the same way in live view, away for your face, as it it does when you look through the viewfinder.  For me, I find it much easier to see shots and to  see the world around because I don't have to peer through a dark tunnel of a viewfinder anymore If I do not want  to.

The other big difference to Canon or Nikon is the EVF.  Only Sony has it in a FF camera.   Personally, I love it and will not go back to Canon or Nikon unless they have an EVF too.   The EVF allows you to see how the image will look BEFORE you take the picture,  so you don't have to go chimping on the rear screen AFTER the moment has passed as you do with Canon or Nikon.  You can instantly see if the WB is right, if you need exp comp for example, before you even take the picture.  Only Sony gives you this in a FF camera.

And let's not forget focus peaking.  My, that is awesome too.

Take a look at professionals like Kirk Tuck ( google him ) and he is a happy Sony shooter having changed from Canon.  He moved because he likes the EVF.
