Gloat ye not.  It was thanks to the extremely dirty business with the Honeywell AF patent in 1991 which cost them $127.5M... at lot of money in those days... and drove a stake right into their heart.

Minolta probably still hoped some saw them as the east Asian Leica but the 'Dark Side' US litigation system had sucessfully undermined them as a major player.
