I use RAW almost exclusively.

1. Lightroom for handling all images. Lightroom 4 is fantastic, if you take the time to learn it.

2. Photoshop (Elements probably just as good for the purpose) for advanced touching up if required.

The advantage with LR is that you can see all images in a go, quickly pick one or more and apply changes, crop whatever. Adding keywords is also easy, and really useful. If your version of LR supports your camera, I see no advantage at all in shooting jpeg, and jpegs can also be exported easily from LR.

Unfortunately there is no easy way around spending some time learning LR, but it really is worth the investment, and also is not as complicated as one might initially think.
