A New Hope....

I just placed my order for an OM-D body, silver, M.Zuiko 17/1.8, and (just for kicks) the BCL-15mm f8.0 Body Lens Cap. I specifically waited on the order until Amazon gave me a ship date on the 17/1.8. They say it will all arrive by Wednesday, but so far the lens has not shipped.
Decided on starting with the 17/1.8 just to play around with for family snap shots, etc. Maybe the OM-D will replace my venerable C-8080 for that purpose!
A New Hope? Perhaps. I have been an OM user since that early 80's. Really regret selling off my old Om stuff (16mm, 18mm, 21mm, 24mm, 50/2 macro, 90/2 macro (see the tears yet?), 180/2.8, 300/4.5, 135/4.5 macro, 20/2 macro...). But I digress Have to keep with the times. Unfortunately, I have been less than impressed with the E300, then E3 I had, and recently sold it all (including my 7-14 and 50/2 macro) in hopes of getting more of an "OM feel" like the old days.
I'm going to stick with as many primes as possible this go around, though I will probably pick up the Panasonic 7-14 as a cave photography lens. I'll probably get the 60 macro next, in time for spring wild flowers. Then the 7-14.
One lens I always wanted was the Zuiko Digital 150/2. I think, with the EX-25 extension ring, this combo would be great for macro photography. I wonder if Olympus has anything planned in terms of a 150 M.Zuiko lens? The list seems topped now at 75mm.
Any thoughts on how the 150/2 with adapter would perform on the OM-D, and maybe even with a 25mm or longer ring? One of my favorite macro rigs decades ago was my 300/4.5 with the 65-116mm telescopic auto tube....
Fujichrome Velvia 50, OM-4T, 300mm lens, 116mm extension tube, focusing rail, 1 second at f/8.
I really want to get back to this type of imagery, but so far the "bokeh" has been illusive to me.
Kind of hoping the newer smaller body with have the "feel" of OM, and rekindle my interest in long lens macro. Anyway, just saying hi! Will report back with my opinions of the new body and lens soon I hope....
