I bought an NEX-6 with the kit lens along with the SEL55-210 ($199, long story). I replaced a Nikon D40. After reading of all the issues and shortcomings here with regard to the NEX-6, I'm not feeling too good about dropping $1000 on a mediocre camera.

Maybe I should have just sucked it up and updated to a newer DSLR and a separate pocket digital for keeping in my pocket.

i either need to start enjoying my camera or stop reading........

John, I just read somewhere that the NEX 6 was nominated the best mirrorless camera.

I can tell you I own a NEX5n and many NEX lenses (I just bought the 10-18mm, arriving this Friday) and a host of Pentax gear. I and my GM just shot our company catalog using the NEX5n and the images are great.

I bought the 5n because of the articulating screen as I wanted the Pentax K-01, but without the movable screen the camera is useless, IMHO. I you have not used an articulating screen you don't know what you are missing ;- )

I just bought a NEX6 and it should arrive next week. Although I don't like the fact that it does not have a touch screen, I can make do. I mainly bought it for it's body build and the external dials, and standard hot shoe ;- ). The sensor for all practical purposes has the same resolution and image quality.

You made a fine choice of camera, the fact that it can use just about every lens made by every manufacturer is a huge plus ... I use my Pentax lenses (although on manual).

No, you bought one of the best cameras available for sure IMHO !
