I do not think that the FZ200 replaces a DSLR. It compliments a DSLR. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. For pure IQ, fast action and low light you need a DSLR. For good light, outdoors, slow or still objects and weight the FZ200 is great. I have gotten good FZ200 images up to ISO 800 but there is a place for both cameras. I seem to take the FZ200 most places now purely and simply due to the weight and flexibility. Make sure you fill the frame with your subject using the FZ200 as not much room for cropping afterwards. However, when I go to take photos of my grandson playing hockey indoors or a soccer game indoors or concert or fast action shots then I take the DSLR. A place and use for both cameras. I also shoot RAW with post processing to get best results.
