Pentax-K Mount Considerations For a New Replacement Camera
Dec 29, 2012

I have an older 35mm Ricoh camera with the Pentax-K mount, for which I have several Pentax-K lens.  These lens are rather modest in their quality, I assume, as their comparative prices when new seemed to be about mid-range, certainly not professional.

I want to buy a moderately priced digital SLR camera.

I'd very much appreciate your thoughts.  I fear to allow the older lenses to dictate a new camera buying decision would be like the tail wagging the dog.  Should I just forget I have them and start all over, not buying into another Pentax-K mounting restriction, or are there considerations that I should make that may favor retaining the lenses and going with another newer Pentax-K mounting type camera, be it Ricoh or Pentax?

Thanks a lot!
