I just checked a D800E .nef on my I7 920 with a Kingston SSD and it opened and finished the ACR portion in less than 1 sec. and opened the image of a 350 DPI image on a 27" screen in less than 2 secs. My MBP 17" 2.8 takes about 6-8 secs with an OZC ssd of the same image at 180 DPI after the ACR portion completes. I have relagated my MBP to something to carry in the car trunk for a quick travel viewer. its SLOW. I replaced it with an HP 8760W laptop which opens the same 350DPI image at very close to the same speed as my I7 920.
