If you have the 18-200, then it is easy to test 35mm and 50mm to be sure that the 50mm fits to your needs (I did this test with my 18-55 before to chose).
My thought process was I can always move towards the subject with a 35mm to "zoom in" but I can't "zoom out" if there's a wall behind me when using a 50mm. The price difference between the two was $50.
