In my observation skin tone accuracy of all APS-C took a hit after 6-8 MP in exchange for more MP better DR and better high ISO. 4/3rds skin tones suffered after 10 MP.

You mentioned you previously had a D5100....do you feel the D7000 skin tones are different from it ?

yes, I had no problem with my D5100. Here's a SOOC jpeg from my previous D5100, taken with the 50mm 1.8G (f/2, 1/60s, +0.7 EV, ISO 100, Auto WB, spot metering). Isn't that weird, since the D5100 and the D7000 share the same sensor?
