I have called Sony 2-3 times for support. In each case, I spoke to someone clueless and incompetent. Points of note:

My last experience with Sony support was 3 years ago, and prior to that, 5 years ago. It is possible they improved.
I am in the US, not Canada. Sony support is supposed to vary substantially by country. I've heard wonderful reports about Sony support from other parts of the world.
Independent reviews of Sony support (e.g. LensRentals) rated them equally badly.

Anyways, I posted that for benefit of anyone interested. Feel free to take or ignore.
