So you physically install a second copy of Windows and then just boot to whichever version you want?

Do you know how much space a bare-bones install version of Windows (7 or 8) takes (that is a question, not a snide comment)? I was just wondering if it would be too much for an ssd. I don't have one of those yet but perhaps someday ...
