Using XE-1 with a circular polarizing filter

I've noticed that using a circular polarizing filter with the X-E1 is difficult. When I rotate the filter I don't see any difference in the EVF (like I do with my DSLR and Canon S100). Anyone else experience this phenomenon? And, if so, did you figure out how to make it work?
