Now, I don't know about anyone else, but focus and exposure are the two most important things I care about in my photos.

How right you are. I imagine for most people these, along with color rendition and dynamic range are more important than high iso performance. If I had a choice between a camera that was good only to iso1600 and had superior exposure and focus accuracy vs a camera that was not as good with focus and exposure yet was outstanding to iso 12800 I'll take better exposure and focusing any day.

I disagree. If you look at the times when you will most likely be using higher iso, this is in low light shooting. This is also when you will need fast glass, but we are talking about a camera that cannot use AF if you need faster than F3.5 right? So in low light, there is a distinct disadvantage. As for DR, it drops considerably when high iso is used, and a quick look at DXO shows the a99 is not the high iso DR leader, although the 5DIII is pretty good. The a99 is a great tool for good light video if you don't care about sharpness, but we shouldn't kid ourselves, sharpness is important. If it wasn't, we wouldn't have blue ray and HD channels.
