Sounds similar to this problem from Les

At first i also thought that it was very unlikely that the Hot swapping caused the problem.
However i cant ignore the very strange thing that happened to the LCD screen upon doing so.

It was almost like the screen got overloaded with light once the 16mm pancake was removed. Then when i swapped to my 28-70 + EF-E adapter i could see an image but it was very Noisy and Grainy and multicolored like something out of a Trippy 70's movie.
I definitely got an immediate feeling that the camera didn't like what i had just done.

This part reminds me of this problem from Les. It didn't actually do much, but its not exactly something I would want done.

This is just one that pops up with a search at DPR, just that this particular post stood out and it is in the NEX forum as well. Might have nothing to do with it, but then again ....

All the best and hope you get a new camera soon, not nice at all.

Danny.
