Help with renaming and elements 11 please

I have just purchased a copy of Elements 11. I hope to be able to throw away my very old copy of PS CS2 and many free viewers and editors but I’m struggling with a few basics for which I may come for help

I want to rename all the files in a folder, a piece of cake in CS2 Bridge and I get two test boxes a date and a sequential number

In elements I have found the process multiple files command

Worked out that it only works in Expert mode

Found the use same folder box but when I tick that box it removes my ability to select resize

I can copy to a new folder but I don’t want to do that and when I do that it appears to open every file as it renames it.

As I often use this function to rename 1000 files this would be very slow compared to the few seconds that bridge takes and I end up with twice as many pictures as I want.

Any advice
