Canon 6D upgrade question
Dec 28, 2012

Hello all,

I am a serious amateur who has soldiered on with my original DSLR, a Rebel XTi, for over 5 years.  I have 17-55, 70-300L, and 10-22.  I generally shoot landscape and city subjects (and a couple of weddings for friends).  I have patiently been waiting for the right time to upgrade.  I am seriously thinking about the 6D.  Here are a couple of questions I would like to pose to any who have already been down this path:

  1.     I love the shots I get from 17-55.  Will I be just as happy with results from 24-105?     (I'm sure new 24-70 F4 will be a great lens, but it is even a shorter range zoom than 17-55, which is already on the short side)
  2.    10-22 is a great lens when used right - only reasonable FF equivalent is 17-40.  I read good and not-so-good about 17-40.  Will it measure up to 10-22?

I will probably wait a little while longer to see what APS-C replacement finally comes out (7D or 60D replacements).  I've been waiting 3 years - whats a few more months?  I like my APS-C lenses but know that the jump to FF will require changes.

Any thoughts / comments are very much appreciated.
