Canon 650-4ti owners, what computer system requirements are needed?

I upgraded from Win7 to 8 out of curiosity. Using Lightroom 4 on a 17 inch Core i3 DELL laptop. At first I hated it because I had to get used to the new Start menu. Now I'm used to it and actually like it. However I do believe Win 7 is the best choice for people who are used to windows XP or Vista on a desktop and don't like it if much has changed.
