Hardware I/F problems with Win7 make upgrades a crap shoot for many of the programs we have to use to talk to the many variations of building control systems.  Various USB to RS232 adapters almost work on many programs but not all, let alone the other serial protocols.  Have yet to find a reliable product that will work with multiple laptop makes and models under WIN7 but not difficult under XPPRO-S3.  Even chassis with a RS-232 port are unreliable S/W wise with many programs. The Library Function is a configuration mess with 15 years of stored report folders containing multiple document types to cleanly separated. Bottom line upgrading office desktops to WIN7 did not really provide a real operational improvement.
