General Norman Schwarzkopf died.

He was definitely one of my heros.   I was very proud to have been a soldier under the command of Stormin' Norman.    If he would have gotten his way back then instead of Powell, I'm convinced we would never have had the first trade center attack, the Cole attack or the 9/11 Twin Towers disaster.   I have near zero respect for Powell as you can tell.   Anyway, I posted my tribute to him here(not my best work, but my compulsion to do for those that touched me in any fashion or form; way too man good ones passed on this year and look forward to the death of 2012).
