Infant mortality?

Well, if true, this is incredibly bad design.

If changing the lens while the camera is switched on was going to destroy the whole thing, any half-witted engineer would incorporate a simple interlock to prevent same. Or, more likely, rework the design on the lens/body connections to make the system more robust.

To the high and mighty posters who claim they would never make such a simple error or oversight, I say, HAHAHAHAHA, HEHEHEHEHE, HAHAHAHAHA!

And not to forget: HIHIHIHIHI

Seriously though: I've seen this sort of warning [and discussooion about it) with Canon camera's as well. There was never any hard or compelling there either.

Amore likely explanation in this case would seem to be infant mortality. Thats tough, but it happens
