vishal,
The previous replies are correct, 200 meters is a long way from the camera. I have photographed the local village cricket matches with a 70-300mm lens with a reasonable degree of success using a distance of around 40-80 meters and still having to crop considerably. However using a camera and tripod on the boundary is not for the feint hearted and I would not recommend it. For football, cricket, etc. you will be OK with a lens of around 500mm. In fact I am looking for 500mm myself and will probably go for the Sigma (Bigma) 50-500, it has a good reputation and fitted to an APS sized camera gives a maximum focal length of 750mm.
