S110 overexposing with flash
Dec 28, 2012

Hi there.  Just got a s110 for the holidays for my wife.  I was comparing the Canon s110, Panasonic LX7, and Olympus XZ1.

I ultimately went with the S110 due to its pocket size, and lens cover. - important for my wife.  I wanted to get the best camera possible without paying the price of that new Sony.

I have been unimpressed so far.  Many indoor shots with the flash are overexposed.  I have tried the Auto setting, as well at the Program setting.  Its almost as if the flash is too bright.  I tried stepping back a bit, and using the zoom, with some improvement, but not much.

Any suggestions?

Here is an example of what I am talking about.  Many of my shots come out like this.

Too many highlights
