Now that we're back on topic "experience with 35f2 IS"

See my 12 examples above...

I find this lens to be Very Good at f2, not soft or lacking in contrast. (See my books and packages photos above) Whereas I'm used to safely using my zooms at 6.3 to 11, I've now got f2.8 to 5.6 to play with. I have in the past rented a 35L and found it stellar. So when Canon came out with a new formula new tech 35 f2, I pre-ordered it on spec. (I'm partial to the "old journalists" perspective it provides.)

Its bokeh is great with the 8 blades (instead of 5), its build and focus is great, and IS is a bonus for me. I would concede that it should be priced at about 6 hundred though.

Tech Tip:I'm using LR4 and have substituted the regular 35 f2 Lens correction to be automatic on loading the new IS version files with good success.

That's my experience as well. The lens has not disappointed me so far. The pictures turn out to be sharp enough for me. I didn't have situation that I wished I had f/1.4 instead. Indeed, I feel more confident on low lights since now I've got IS.

Again, it's just my usage pattern.
