Har har, good one. Sorry the OM-D wasn't for you. That's no reason to hurl baseless insults at those who like it. You talk about cheap legacy glass, but not everyone likes manual focusing, and Pentax's focus peaking isn't the best implementation. You're right that the K30 is a very fine camera and is worthy of serious consideration. But just because you like it best doesn't mean everyone who chooses something else is acting for superficial reasons.
Attitudes like yours are representative of the entire problem with this forum. Everyone is so busy making neener neener arguments about price, styling, and marginal performance differences that they never leave their computers and take actual photographs.
Hmmm ... well there's plenty of excellent budget priced AF legacy glass around too. I was picking up Tedolph's line of thinking actually ... not bashing anyone. If folk want to splash $1000 on an E-M5 then pick up the few over-priced primes that are excellent, then that's just good and dandy!
As for being "representative of the entire problem with this forum", - in fact I get out most days and actually take photos. I spent 4 days in Amsterdam last week just on street stuff using a Pentax K-01 (another bargain cam using the excellent WR 18-135), Christmas morning on the Brittany coast among the gulls and spray with a DA*50-135, and today on a long woodland walk with the K30 & Sigma 10-20. About 1700 RAW images in all I guess. So I am curious to know how that describes me as one of those "busy making neener neener arguments about price, styling, and marginal performance differences that they never leave their computers and take actual photographs ..." And what may I ask, is "neener" ... just curious ....
