What happens if there is another shooter and this time the teachers are armed, but so frightened that they do not shoot and many students are killed? Will you want to hold the teacher liable for not shooting? Arming an overworked, underpaid employee may sound good but when these kind of knee jerk reactions go wrong, they go wrong in a big way. Don't forget that all 9 bystanders shot recently in NYC were shot or injured by two police officers trying to stop the lone suspect. And they were trained. I re-certified on multiple firearms every year, a three day process with one day in class and two on the range. After 18 years of that, I feel like I have an idea what is expected. It is a joke to think teachers will be able to commit to the same.

God help our children, for man is seriously screwed up.
