Even with just a 75 watt flood bulb, I have been scraping by, hand-held. This is thanks in no small part to modern high-ISO performance and stabilization (when available). But I do constantly ride the edge with noise, shallow depth and shutter speed. 2 or 3 more stops would make my life a lot easier and I think that should be doable with tungsten. (Also helps that these shots are for the web - for some kind of coffee table book project I can always take the extra time and bust out the tripod...)
