It is neither positive nor negative.

Besides, if it weren't for them, there wouldn't be as many good deals on one to two year old camera bodies. Look at what a G3, a very good M43 body, sells for today. A lot less than it should.

So even if you're not a new gear lover, you still benefit from their hobby... indirectly.

Well, as I said above, the manufacturers forcus too much on bodies and not enough on lenses-because we do!
