Not sure you will have any luck, even with good reasons. Pentax has gone on record saying the cost and effectiveness of sealing is the reason for no folding LCD. Yes it would make my macro work much easier at certain angles, but I have to ask myself how often do I not have my eye on the VF.

For anybody who doubts the reasons of Ricoh/Pentax, take a look at pro bodies. From the 1D line, D4, D800, 5D line, fixed LCD. The only one is the new a99 and it has been noted to have several sealing issues, including the battery flap and cheap sd slot door. If you want the best build and sealing, fixed is the way to go. Too bad we can't have both, but I don't NEED it enough to justify the cost or sacrifice.
