4/3 Prices

Prices are going to be higher, certainly on the glass, as there is no ready supply of used lenses to push prices down. It's supply and demand, and right now, demand is stronger than supply, certainly on the used market.

If you look at the prices on older Leica M glass, that once was fairly cheap, their prices have risen quite a bit in the last couple of years, probably from the increased demand by mirrorless owners. The 90 F2 I was looking at two years ago, KEH had some EX examples for $450-500. Just checked recently, it's more like $800-900 now. Just about the same price as the Oly 75 1.8. What a coincidence.

Quite true that a well equipped GH3 is edging up into FF price territory. However... be sure you're comparing apples to apples, IQ wise. I forget how many times I've read a troll around here where someone prices the FF glass using older film lenses (yah, mon, they be great lenses), not the new FF optimized glass. Not exactly an equal comparison, unless you think vignetting is an art filter.

So, yes, to a degree, yes, you're paying a premium for the size and the newness of the system. Is it worth the cost? That's up to the individual to decide. A FF system, by the time you add decent glass, is a fairly large system.

Actually, when the new OMD comes out late next summer with fast ZD AF, that gives one fast focus with the 4/3 ZD zooms, which are very attractively priced on the used market, and of extremely high quality - I use them on my EM5 now, slower AF and all, for the killer IQ and sharpness in low light. But, when that OMD comes out, prices on the ZD's will probably go up.
