SAL35F18 for photographing baby/children indoors
5 months ago

When I bought my a33, I was on a very limited budget but wanted versatility. The 18-250mm I have has served me satisfactorily for my landscape shots and other photography.

Now we have a baby girl on the way, and I've been researching lenses for taking (indoor) pictures of her. Also, I'm hoping it will be useful as she grows and moves about a lot. Based on my reading, I'm convinced the SAL35F18 is the lens I need. According to Kurt Munger...

"The Sony DT 35mm F/1.8 is my favorite prime lens period.  If you only have enough money to get one good lens for your APS-C camera, this is it.  This lens is so good it would be a bargain at twice the price."

Am I on the right track? Any other recommendations for the same price (about $190)?

Thank you.
