Accidentally Formatted my data drive. Can it be undone?

I've actually not been able to see a "Quick format" option either in disk management on my OS or in GParted so I have no opinion on it. To me "format" is full format in which every sector is checked but its contents left untouched, distinguished from "deep format" in which every sector is overwritten with either random data or zeroes.

Testdisk will recover from a Gparted effected format where every sector has been validated.
