Infrared technique with the SD1M?
Dec 27, 2012

I'd appreciate any feedback about using the SD1M for infrared photography. Ive shot infrared for years, starting with the Minolta Dimage 7, and the 5D and 5DmkII which were converted to infrared only by MaxMax with a 820nm IR filter. With the SD1M I'm trying to use a Hoya R72. This problem is that it blocks out so much visible light that I can't see the image to frame the shot. In very bright sunlight the auto focus works, but manual focus is out of the question. Am I using the wrong filter? Thanks.
