If the bulb is well made the exact type doesn't matter that much - tungsten, CFL or LED, they all are intended to act alike when set in a stage fixture. Incidentally the beam spread floodier (i.e. not one of the dedicated spot types) is quite close to that of a speedlight at its WA setting.
Although after a short time I ended up relying on my intuition for the "broad strokes"-shapers and purpose built tools for more detailed work. Comes with working outdoors or cine lights I suspect.
