I am sure there are a lot of folks there who feel the same way.

I had a friend over today for a little photoshoot of my newborn. At one point she was laying stretched out on the floor with her Nikon (D7000 I think) getting a shot of a cradle on the floor. Her neck wasn't very happy. Personally I like the EVF but I find the LCD more versatile: angles, tracking, height positioning are all much easier especially considering it flips.

You're making an assumption based on how you use the camera which is the same shortsighted attitude as Sony appears to have.

ither center or focus tracking would be my choice.

touch focus when using a view finder is not practical - in fact it is a complete waste and holding the camera out in front of you when you dont have to because you have a view finder is not the most stable way to hold your camera.

as to focus mode - - I use flexible spot

i totally agree.

why do people think you always need to use the evf?

different situations calls for different techniques.

Unfortunately, sony will not sell the 5r with the 16-50 in the U.S. so now i will need to buy the 6.
