Normally, the copies should all be about the same.    You may find some lenses being slightly sharper at one focal length or another, or at one aperture of another.    But they are basically all the same with the occasional exception.    I have always believed that most perceived variances in lenses are more with the users brain and eyes than with the lens itself.    I am guessing that objective observers would rarely note any difference in picture IQ from one copy to another.
