On my DSLR, I would say the  sensor has some dirt specs on it..A DSLR sensor can be cleaned on your own.. On a point and shoot, you don't have access to the sensor, so it probably has to go back..On a DSLR you set it to F22 and shoot a blue sky or other plain, light colored background, and any dirt on the sensor will immediately show up.You might try putting it on its smallest aperture and give that a try...Jimmymac
