I am a bit surprised at the emphasis on landscape for this lens.   Of course one's landscape all depends on where you can stand and what field of view you want, but 85 seems a bit long for landscape.

I don't see that the OP mentioned DX or FX, but especially on DX it is pretty long, especially if that's going to be your only choice.   If you want one lens for landscapes, I'd consider something with more range in a zoom, like the 24-120, which while not as sharp in an absolute sense gives you some range.  I'm a "vacation landscape" shooter only, so take it with a grain of salt, but most of mine are either taken with the 14-24 or 24-70 (both tack sharp but of course two lenses).  Or they are at >300mm for sunsets and similar.   I just don't see much opportunity for something in the 85 range for landscapes.  YMMV of course.
